Juncture is the first part of AudioTong's first double release which comes from an excellent new electronics/improvisation duo: Yannis Kyriakides (laptop) and Lucio Capece (soprano saxophone, bass clarinet). The album was recorded at Antonin Rayon's studio in Paris in January 2003. Yannis describes this session: I remember writing that I felt the atmosphere of what we recorded was akin to a wind blowing on a distant planet! My memories of that day were very nice. We were squeezed into the small...

With this release AudioTong continues its exploration of new Chinese experimental music scene. Bai Tian (aka bai+ian) is a young sound artist from Chengdu and this is his first EP, however he has already taken part in many important sound events and installations, including China Power Station exhibition in London this year. His music is based on deep ambient drones, noisy clicks and field recordings. As a whole it gives an impression of being immersed in a big city's mood, however remains full...

AudioTong is happy to introduce LeeDVD, Polish digital songwriter and singer - if only songwriting is a good description for the music on her debut EP presented here. Six surreal, obsessive and hypnotic songs. Quirky fables, gloomy and humorous, smashed and squeezed pop, onieric and psychedelic, future songwriting - experimental in the best meaning of the word. From noisy drones to abstract melodies, in a mood reminding somewhat of the surreal territories explored by Andrew Liles' in his solo...

Until now he has been best known for electroacoustic, impressionist soundscapes but with this release he goes into a brand new territory. The five tracks presented here are the result of two jam sessions with his fellow musicians. Music of Nole Plastique is usually based on...

With this release AudioTong goes eastwards again - even further than we did before and into completely unknown scene of Uzbekistan. Deficit is a project of Vyacheslav Ismagilov, one of not many experimental artists living and creating in the country's capital city of Tashkent. He describes his works as arised from the hot climate and sun-burnt athmosphere of the place he's living in. In fact you can hear lots of traces and ideas definitely connected to the artist's homeland culture. The broken...

Some time ago we have released Calidoscopio's first album, Plug. We were enchanted by their simple yet beautiful songs and were hoping for more. And now we've got it. The Argentinian duo just finished their new album and we are more than happy to have it online too. Another ten songs, somewhere between melancholic lo-fi pop and weirdly distorted electronica - still surprising and still very good, maybe even better than the first one. Not much has changed also about our knowledge of the band's...

Another radical release on AudioTong: nuohâs âTajne Przejsciaâ EP is an example of how Olaf Nowaczykâs idea of âpure soundâ is realized. Or actually was, as these recordings come from 2002. Nowaczyk states that his works are not inspired by Stockhausen or Cage-like gurus, but come from his audiophile fondness for âpure soundâ. In this case âpureâ means âstripped of whole this cosmetic trashâ. Recorded live with no further edits, these tracks (as well as any others by nuoh) give the...

The idea of travelling in sound was always close to our general idea of being interested in music - music understood not only as a purely artistic form of expression but also as something intangible yet bearing lots of sociological, philosophical and even political meanings. Not to mention that unexpected sounds are the only ones worth listening to. Probably. This compilation here is another step into rather unknown territories of sound art - unknown for the westernized ear, for those who have...

With this release we're glad to announce a new chapter for AudioTong: the Songwriters. Of course, not typical songwriters, the ones you could imagine with a guitar and folkish manners. These pieces are continuation of a project started on an EP for (1.8)sec-records. They are all never-ending loops, created to be played live, with different timing, in different configurations. Each of them might be listened either as a never ending loop or a finished piece itself. The whole idea of using long, apparently simple loops, is to make a listener perceive each sound's repeatability and principle, which is different at every performance, depending - in some way - on accident.
